The Examiner
Many fans in Big East country are hearing that long time and popular broadcaster Dave Sims could be headed west.
As soon as this week Sims could be announced as a member of the Seattle M’s broadcast crew.
If Sims does indeed get the job he will become the only black play by play man in Major League Baseball but most of all he will be most qualified.
Sims has done a great job on Westwood One/CBS Radio for years as one of their premier NFL and college basketball broadcasters.
He is no stranger to baseball after working games for most of the 90’s as part of the ESPN broadcast crew.
Recently I ask Sims about working for the M’s “I would love the chance to work with Dave Niehaus he is a living legend, a great broadcaster, and a true Seattle treasure. Rick Rizzs, like Dave is so much a part of the M’s family that working with him would be a real treat. The M’s are a true first class organization. The city of Seattle is one of the counties most beautiful so what’s not to like? Right now I am just happy to be in the mix. If it does happen it would be an honor and I look forward to moving to Seattle and becoming a part of the community.”
So it seems like a deal is close but certainly not yet done so we will keep you posted.
